The Miran Trilogy
Sharle Walsh is being followed. Her seemingly ordinary life is turned upside down when a stranger named Ucker begins contacting her and enlists her in a secret international project called MIRA. An outsider, she joins a band of experts representing different political interests to help solve the earth’s desperate climate situation which has been aggravated by an anomaly in the solar system. Sharle soon meets Nicolas Rowinsky, a brilliant yet dangerous billionaire who is at the centre of the project. But who can she really trust? And why did they pick her? It seems her gifts run deeper than any of them truly know, and she may just be the key to saving them all.
The Miran Excerpt
With one deep breath, and without any warning, Sharle plunged into the dark pool of air, casting herself off from the floor and landing quicker than she anticipated. Her legs felt a tiny prickle and she rolled, for what felt like the duration of ten falls combined. She finally stopped and was relieved to feel no pain in her legs at all. She felt scruffy, having rolled in the dirt, and her new dress was ruined. But, feeling fine, she jumped up and ran, faster than ever, towards the platform.
The Miran Excerpt
Sharle was out like a light. She stirred slightly when she heard a crash. Forcing herself up, she leaned out of her room and looked into her kitchen. A man was standing there! He was dressed in black and had a gun.
“You’re coming with me,” he shouted at her. She tried to reel around but he jumped and grabbed her arm, pulling her down into her living room. She was so out of it from the sleeping pill that she couldn’t fight back. Terror coursed through her veins. She tried to crawl and get her phone on her bedside table, but the man was too powerful and it was too far away. He picked her up and threw her over his shoulder, heading out the back door. Just then, Sharle fell to the floor. The blow sent shooting pain up her shoulder and into her neck. She cried out. Surely a neighbor would hear this? Why had he dropped her? She looked up to see another man holding the intruder by the neck. She squinted, pulling away from their kerfuffle and recognized Ucker behind the other man. He pushed his elbows and forearms into the man’s neck and knocked him out. Then he came over to Sharle and picked her up. She was powerless to stop it.
